KMZ Assembly Line -- A line of MT-11 OHV Dnepr motorcycles on the overhead rail.  The assembly line traversed several floors in an efficient system that could produce 400 machines a day.  These green Dneprs were probably intended for the export market with some reserved for local sales.  Note the bench seats and the white striping which was said to be painted on by hand.  The front timing covers are off to speed up testing and adjustments later on.  Judging from these characteristics and the sideburns of the neatly-attired KMZ man this is a 1970 era shot.

=======================================================================  These unique and increasingly rare Dnepr motorcycles were manufactured in Ukraine at KMZ, the Kiev Motorcycle Factory (Kyivskyi Mototsykletnyi Zavod), which is no longer in production.  The Dnepr is a diminishing species.      Our motorcycles were restored and rebuilt in Ukraine and are shipped fully assembled to us from Odessa to Sacramento.  We do additional mechanical work as required and take the vehicles through the documentation process.  We sell titled and registered vehicles only. There are different styles and models of Dneprs, but in general they fall into two categories -- military and civilian models.  The other main differences are engine type -- Overhead Valve vs Flathead or Sidevalve.
